    I Love This Line

I’m here today to purchase a second Mrs Pegg’s line and thought I’d write a review for my first while I’m at it. I’ve had my Mrs Pegg’s Classic 10 line for nine and a half years now. It was given to me when my son was born and it is, without exception, the most useful gift I have ever received. I use it daily and fill it up. I typically use it inside, but used it outside under shelter for three years. This line is one durable item! Mine has no hint of rust; the powder-coated paint is almost as good as new (none of that chalky residue paints produce as they break down); and the actual lines are as taut and intact as the day it arrived. That’s pretty impressive! It is light to carry, easy to set up and collapse, and wonderfully compact to transport and store. I am only five foot tall, so I find the height of this line really ergonomic to hang my washing, yet it provides sufficient clearance for my queen-sized bed sheets such that they don’t touch the ground. The best thing about it, though, is that I am no longer a slave to my washing! I am not subject to the weather and I can wash at any time of the day or night. This has been a little bit life changing. We bought a clothes dryer a few years back, when we moved to a really damp area, but we never ended up needing it. It’s still in its shrink wrap! My only issue with this line has been its tendency to blow over in strong gusts of wind. This probably isn’t a problem now that the new models are equipped with an anchor strap, but I solved it by threading each leg through a couple of 60s-style red house bricks (the ones with three holes down the middle). It wasn’t pretty, but it did the trick. I only wish there was a twelve line model available. I can comfortably fit two loads of washing on my ten-er, but I’ve lost count of the number of times I wanted to wash and hang that little bit more. But then, that’s washing; there’s always more.

I have a classic 10 line as well. Yes it does blow over in a strong wind. My anchor strap perished from age and being out in the weather. I’m just on the website now to see ifp there are replacements for sale. I think I might try the house brick suggestion. Thanks

I’ve had my line for at least 10 years, they are awesome. I’m about to give our daughter our old one & purchase a new one. My washing use to blow over to, but I found the solution….make sure you put equal weight of your washing on opposite sides…to balance.

Hi Jeanette. Thankyou for your feedback and yes they are awesome! All the Handy Lines come with an anchoring strap now which helps secure the load if it gets too windy. They can be fixed to the older lines. If your interested, please call our free call number 1800 111 811.

      Hi Helen,

The max drying space means how many meters of line space the large models both have 16m of drying space.
